THE AUTHOR’S STATEMENT
Para, pero sigue is a cinematic exploration of freedom, friendship, and the feminine universe. On a vibrant road trip through Spain, Flora and Boa navigate the thrill of adventure while confronting the fragile tensions of life in transit. Inspired by a week-long hitchhiking journey I undertook with my best friend at 24, traveling from Barcelona nearly to Saint-Tropez. The film embraces the spirit of the road movie genre — its restless movement, the contemplation of space, and the poetry of landscapes — while subverting its conventions through intimate, character-driven storytelling.
Shot with a mix of fluid camera movements and carefully composed stills, the film balances spontaneity and precision, reflecting the raw energy of youth and the desire to let go of what no longer serves, while summoning the courage to pursue the unknown. Locations — from luminous roads to a harmoniously colored petrol station — enhance the narrative’s visual poetry.
At its heart, “Para, pero sigue” is a journey of discovery: of space, of friendship, and of the courage to let go and embrace what lies ahead.
