Co-commissioned by the Barbican Centre and WePresent by WeTransfer, in partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and with support from 180 Studios & De Singel Arts Centre, this multidisciplinary project reflects on the complex, often untold stories of Black & African diasporic experiences across Europe. For this work, Julian Knxx traveled through several European cities, collaborating with local musicians and choirs to weave a moving collective narrative of memory, migration, and resilience.

Rosario, a 67-year-old woman who was once a celebrated pop star, lives a monotonous, passionless life. One evening, upon seeing herself on an old television program, she decides to sing her old songs in the subway — unleashing a night where desire, and the need to feel alive, will sweep her into the unknown.
